Virtual journal clubs give nurses the opportunity to review nursing literature and critically evaluate peer reviewed nursing publications in a non-threatening environment conducive to learning. It is an alternative to the traditional unit/department based face-to-face format which lends to more flexibility and convenience with a blog dialogue that allows for engaged conversations with peers in any setting. This activity can lead to nursing practice changes and policy/procedure modifications as well as camaraderie among colleagues. Nursing research studies are posted with corresponding critique comments and discussion questions for conversation. The blog site will be reviewed with response from the Education and Research Department Director and your peers/colleagues. The Research and EBP Council is very excited about this new technology and method to evaluate literature and welcomes your input. Enjoy!!
